After working in public education for a quarter century and launching an Innovation Institute, Pam Northrup, PhD, now focuses her present consultancy work on areas such as online higher education, adult degree completion and immersive education. Dr. Pam Northrup’s areas of leadership include online learning, innovation and change leadership, instructional design and technology, and she had authored several well-received reference books, book chapters and articles.
Having developed groundbreaking online learning strategies, Dr. Northrup has practical knowledge of how colleges and universities can transition to online course offerings, and how this paradigm can be tailored to meet students’ specific home learning needs. She has developed and demonstrated best practices when it comes to microcredentialing as a way of meeting the needs of adults returning to higher education.
A thought leader in her field, Dr. Northrup led a team in Florida to develop a report “The Costs of Online Education” as part of the State University System's Online Strategic Plan. She also worked on cost study for a legislatively mandated program to chancellors of the state’s public higher education system. Over the years, Pam Northrup, PhD, has taken part in numerous industry events, ranging from the Fast Company Innovation Festival to the ASU GSV Summit. She enjoys fixing items and antiquing in her free time, and attends antique fairs in Round Top, Texas, twice each year.
